Located only five minutes from the bustling Djamaa El-Fna market and the historic Place Rahba Lakdima, our riad offers an authentic Moroccan experience with over 800 years of history, meticulously restored in 2023 to showcase Moorish architecture and the philosophy of "Healing Architecture."

Our Vision
La Maison d'Art & Medicine, founded by Jalid Sehouli and Adak Pirmorady-Sehouli, is more than just a guest house. It's a space where art, medicine, and culture intertwine, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Avicenna. Our riad invites global citizens, artists, and healers to immerse in an environment that fosters relaxation, inspiration, and holistic well-being.

Koutoubia Mosque
The Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech is the largest mosque in the city and a symbol of Moroccan architecture. Built in the 12th century, its 77-meter minaret is an iconic landmark. Non-Muslims cannot enter, but the gardens and stunning exterior are must-see highlights.
Djamaa El-Fna

At La Maison d'Art & Medicine, you are welcomed by two remarkable individuals who have brought their unique talents and passions together to create this exceptional retreat of art, culture, and well-being.
Prof. Dr. Jalid Sehouli
Born in Berlin to Moroccan parents, Prof. Dr. Jalid Sehouli is a renowned doctor, scientist, author, and passionate cook. As an internationally acclaimed writer, he has penned literary tributes to his beloved places, "Marrakesh" and "Tangier," available in German, Arabic, and Russian. With a deep connection to Moroccan culture and a profound appreciation for the healing power of art, Prof. Dr. Sehouli has infused every corner of the riad with inspiration and authenticity.
Dr. Adak Pirmorady-Sehouli
Also born in Berlin to Persian parents, Dr. Adak Pirmorady-Sehouli is a psychoanalyst, cultural scientist, and talented painter. Her artistic sensibility and deep understanding of human connection are evident in the thoughtful design of the riad and its creative workshops. She brings a unique perspective that seamlessly blends culture, wellness, and art.
Together, Jalid and Adak have created La Maison d'Art & Medicine as a space where tradition meets innovation, art meets healing, and every guest feels at home. Their vision is to offer an inspiring haven for relaxation, reflection, and cultural exploration.
